Trophies awarded for values that make a difference
When it comes to awards at the end of the school year, there’s always plenty to celebrate. This year inspirational young people across the region achieved special recognition for demonstrating outstanding character traits.
The awards were presented to children nominated for values each school holds in high regard. Henry Adams sponsored the awards and presented engraved trophies to the winning children in each school, ranging from Haslemere to Chichester.
Kevin Daymond of Henry Adams in Selsey, said, “It was a privilege to present this award to Ieva at Medmerry Primary School. Her teachers explained that Ieva has shown a can-do attitude, respectfulness, friendliness, and enthusiasm, along with working very hard. This is seriously impressive and I think there’s a very bright future ahead for Ieva - as well as for all the other amazing children who achieved these special awards.”
Dee Tickner, community liaison co-ordinator at Henry Adams, organised the awards presentations at the 14 local schools taking part. Dee said, “The schools nominated the children for character values rather than academic or sporting achievements which are often separately celebrated. At Henry Adams, we endeavour to bring our values such as teamwork and dedication, so we wanted to celebrate the importance of positive characteristics with some of the younger members of our communities.”
Each school taking part was invited to select one child who demonstrated values such as teamwork, perseverance and enthusiasm. The trophies were then awarded to the nominated child as part of a special assembly at each school.
Winners include:
George at St Mary’s Catholic Primary, Bognor Regis for his can-do attitude and helpfulness
Ieva at Medmerry Primary, Selsey for her can-do attitude, respectfulness, friendliness, enthusiasm and being so hardworking
Charlotte at Walberton & Binsted CE Primary for her dedication and commitment

Henry Adams has forged close links with many local schools over the years. This summer we’ve also supported summer fairs, a circus and Year 6 leavers’ books to mark the end of primary education as children move up to their next schools.
Keep an eye out for our Christmas competition in schools later this year!
