Why live in Littlehampton?
Littlehampton enjoys a great location at the mouth of the River Arun as it meets the English Channel. This seaside town is a wonderful place for families, with its long stretches of beach, five primary schools and an academy secondary school.
Along with strolls by the sea, sports take centre stage in Littlehampton. There’s plenty to get active. Littlehampton Badminton and Squash Club welcomes new members wanting to get back into the sport or try something new. You’ll also find everything from football, cricket and rugby to a skate park, and 4 all-weather tennis courts plus 2 grass courts at Maltravers Park.
On the seafront, Norfolk Gardens offers yet more tennis facilities plus 9-hole adventure golf and a 6-rink bowls green. There’s also a miniature railway run by the Littlehampton Heritage Railway Association.
Enjoy a meal at East Beach Café, an architectural landmark designed by Thomas Heatherwick. Set right by the sea, the Cafe opened in 2007 with its panoramic views from 40m of windows and serves ‘uncomplicated food using the very best ingredients’.
The younger members of the family will love a trip or two to Harbour Park with its arcade, soft play centre and summer rides. On the fringes of Littlehampton is the ‘Out of Bounds’ climbing and crazy golf centre, next to the scenic Ham Manor Golf Club at Angmering.
Why not relax on Britain’s longest bench of 324 metres or head to the Look and Sea Centre observation tower for a view of all the seafaring craft. Littlehampton has its own marina and yacht club and an RNLI lifeboat station which was home to the first Blue Peter Lifeboats back in 1967.
