A World of Adventure awaits Henry on World Book Day

World Book Day falls on 5 March this year and once again, Henry Adams has teamed up with schools across the southern counties to help celebrate the wonders of reading.

We’ve asked primary school children to imagine their own exciting story about our four legged friend, Henry the dog, and then design a book cover to reflect his fantastic adventures.

The younger children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, have been invited to design the front cover for their unique story for Henry, including all the important details like coming up with a great title and adding their own name as the author.

Older children will be designing a dust jacket for their story book, including a cover design plus short summary on the back cover to inspire readers to read more about Henry’s adventures.

The competition centres around World Book Day, Thursday 5 March, and a prize will be awarded by the local Henry Adams manager to a child in each year group.

Dee Tickner of Henry Adams said, “This is a fun project for children to let their imaginations run wild. I’m sure Henry will be running wild in some of the adventures they come up with for him.

“World Book Day is such a wonderful time to celebrate all the best things about reading and we wanted to work with our fantastic local schools to encourage children to explore the world of books by coming up with ideas of their own.

“We’d like to say a huge thank you to all the teachers and parents who’ve supported their children in this competition and of course to all the children who have been amazingly creative. It’s been fantastic to see all their designs and we’re delighted so many chose to take part this year. It feels like Henry needs a rest after all these adventures though!”
