World Book Day is Back!
Here at Henry Adams we’re looking
forward to this year’s World Book Day. It’s the biggest celebration of books
and reading around the world and this year falls on Thursday, 1 March.
Schools across the region join in
with the celebrations so we’re inviting some of them to take part in our
special World Book Day competitions with prizes for all the winners.
We’ll be coming to local schools to
launch the competitions in assemblies before half term. And then we’ll be back
on or around World Book Day to present winners with badges and prizes -
including some fantastic books of course!
“We’ve chosen some great challenges
to really get the children’s creative flair going,” said Dee Tickner, community
co-ordinator at Henry Adams.
“It’s an opportunity to celebrate
everything about books so there will be a chance for children to tell us
something about their own favourite characters by designing posters or bunting,
writing riddles, or even creating a new character to join a traditional tale.
“One of our local schools will be
challenging their children to design a character’s room for the competition so
we’re very excited to see what they come up with!”
More details about the competitions
will be revealed when we come to the individual assemblies but there’s plenty
of scope for imagination.
The competition entries should be
eye-catching, creative and colourful, as well as original - we’re looking for winners
who are Simply Different, just like us!
