Dream home designers

It was fantastic to receive an overwhelming response from children across the region who took up our invitation to design their very own ‘dream homes’ as part of our summer competition.

In the end, we had more than 1,000 amazing entries from children in 19 primary schools across Sussex, Surrey, and Hampshire, showing all their imagination and artistic skills to create an ‘artist’s impression’ of their dream home.

Our local branch managers visited the schools with our community co-ordinator, Dee Tickner, to introduce the challenge in the summer.

A winner was selected from each year group at each school by a judging panel which included a professional Design Consultant. Winners received a dreamy chocolate ‘house’ donated by Dawn Shrives from Le Salon du Chocolat in Chichester.

After much deliberation, four overall winners were selected from all the entries. These ‘Fab 4’ designers were awarded an Amazon Fire Tablet and can look forward to seeing their artwork appear this autumn on the Henry Adams website and in advertising, and window displays across all our offices.

We were absolutely blown away by the high standard of entries and certainly there are some budding architects, interior designers and, who knows, perhaps some promising young estate agents and surveyors among the competitors,” said Richard Williscroft, chairman of Henry Adams.

“I know the judging panel found the selection extremely difficult and as a result, we decided to present another 20 children across all the schools with a £10 book token to recognise their outstanding designs

On behalf of everyone at Henry Adams, we’d like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to all the children who entered the Dream Homes competition. It was a real pleasure to be involved with such inspirational local young talent. Well done to all!”
