Art in the Physic Garden, Petersfield
Henry Adams is delighted to sponsor a special
exhibition in the Physic Garden created by the children of Petersfield Infant
School with the direction of freelance artist and theatre designer, Vicki
Ostersen. Every one of the 360 pupils from the school chose 2 stones to
decorate, one with a self-portrait and the other painted with a design of their
choice using a restricted colour pallet. Vicki masterminded the initiative
to celebrate every child’s individual talent contributing towards a whole
project, “Every child’s creation is included and now all the stones are
together in the garden they create a vibrant, powerful display that showcases
the brilliant creativity of young people.”
Craig Towersey and Tracey Killing, staff from Henry Adams Petersfield and Dee Tickner our Community Liaison Coordinator were pleased to be invited to the opening day and see the infant children visiting their colourful creation. Throughout the week all the children will be brought to the garden by the school to see their work in place. Craig adds, “ I was delighted to see the superb efforts of the children from Petersfield Infants School who have made a colourful and eye catching display here at the Physic Garden. It’s great to see such creativity in such young children.”
The exhibition will remain in situ
until Friday, April 21st so do go along and enjoy this creative
display by the young children of Petersfield, admission is free. At the end of the
project the stones will be collected and given back to the children to keep.
