5 top tips to help your home sell quickly
It may seem obvious but before you think about putting your property on the market it is always a good idea to ensure it’s looking its best so it will catch the eye of any potential buyers.
Here are some of our quick, easy and relatively low-cost top
tips for autumn…
1.
Front door. First impressions really do count and
your front door will be one of the first things any potential buyer will see,
so make sure it is looking its best. Repaint if necessary and update any
outside lights to make sure they work, and are warm and inviting.
2.
Carpets can create a great first impression, so
ensure they are clean and spot free. Powdered carpet cleaners are quick to use
as they can be hoovered up, they leave a fresh, clean smell and there's no lengthy
drying process involved.
3. Clean
everything until it sparkles.
Buyers will expect to see a clean home when on a viewing so remove any signs of
limescale (we’ve heard vinegar or lemon juice are perfect for this) and use an
old toothbrush to reach those small spaces. Polish those taps and clean and
repair tile grout! Consider waxing any wooden
floors to leave a shiny surface.
4. Declutter. Now is the perfect time to rid
yourself of all the excess ‘bits & bobs’ you have accumulated over the
years. The general rule of thumb is if you haven’t used it or worn it in the
last year, you don’t need it. Go on, be brave!
5. Fresh
lick of paint. Giving your
walls a fresh lick of neutral coloured paint will make your home seem lighter
and brighter, and will enable any potential viewers to imagine themselves
living there and putting their own stamp on the property.
Don’t forget, using Henry Adams will ensure your property is marketed to the right target market, using the right marketing channels, whilst ensuring you receive the best service possible.
