A friend indeed
Gertrude Jekyll, legendary for creating some 400 landscaped gardens in her lifetime, was a great friend of Mrs Robb, then owner of the Chitley Place estate in Liphook. Jekyll lived in Munstead Wood, in nearby Godalming.
The influence of such an accomplished horticultural friendship can be seen today in the pretty garden of Goldenfields House, a major wing of the substantial country house of Mrs Robb’s former estate.
Goldenfields House itself was designed as the final extension to Philip Webb’s original house by Owen Little, both leading lights of the Arts & Crafts architectural movement.
It could be yours.
Now on the market with our Haslemere office for offers in excess of £700,000, Goldenfields House is filled with Arts & Crafts character and has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a high-specification, open plan kitchen, and a magnificent reception room of some 27ft by 20ft.
