Great gardens attract top tenants
There is continued high demand from tenants, particularly those searching for two and three bedroom houses, for properties which have the added benefit of a garden.
“Traditionally the lettings market picks up as we enter spring, and while we’ve remained busy through the winter, we’re now seeing a surge in activity with more properties becoming available, and more tenants are requesting a low maintenance garden,” says Samantha Rooke office manager at our Chichester office.
Whether its a small or large family home, people are looking to enjoy their own outside space this summer. Low maintenance gardens are preferred, ideally with a patio for barbecues and a spacious area of lawn with easily maintained borders. With some of our larger properties, our tenants and their families will be able to make the most of some wonderful gardens of anything up to an acre or two.
Naturally all gardens need maintaining and the more glorious they are to look at, the more work is needed to keep them at their best.
We often find that our landlords and tenants will come to a negotiated settlement over payment of a gardener’s services, resulting in reassurance for both parties that the garden will be well maintained during the occupancy.
“A lovely, low maintenance garden can be a real asset, especially at this time of year when they are looking their best. It can help in successfully attracting interest from top tenants who in turn will be able to enjoy all the attributes of the garden this summer,” said Sam.
