It's World Book Day!
It’s World Book Day and the children at
St James’ CE Primary School, Emsworth looked fantastic dressed as an exciting
array of book characters. World Book Day is the biggest celebration of books
and reading in the world and as part of the many exciting literary activities,
Henry Adams Emsworth sponsored a Bookmark Designing competition for the
children.
Matthew Inker, manager at Henry Adams,
and Dee Tickner, community liaison coordinator, dressed for the occasion and joined
in the celebrations, judging the Bookmark competition and awarding books and
badges as prizes to two children in each class.
“A lot of fun was had but the message is
more important than that - reading opens up a world of opportunity and we’ve
been really impressed at the talent and imagination shown by so many of the local
children here,” said Matthew. "Who knows, we may have already found
the next JK Rowling on our doorstep!"
