“I wish we’d done it five years ago!” says Norman Clarke, who with his wife June, is relocating to Walberton from Uxbridge after 33 years. It wasn’t only the setting which impressed the Clarkes. The way the living room is bathed in light and the brightness throughout was an instant winner, as was the complete specification including flooring and kitchen appliances, and the practical layout works well for the couple. “The new kitchen and bathrooms are impressive, as is the generously sized garage which has space at the end for storage as well as for the car,” explains Norman.
June adds: “We wanted to slightly downsize so I was a bit worried about storage but there is enough here. We’ve ordered some new furniture and curtains for the cottage so it’s a bit like being on holiday at the moment while we are adding our own little touches. We’re really looking forward to settling in.”
Already the Clarkes have found the community very welcoming and as a keen golfer, June will be teeing off at nearby Avisford Golf Club.
“We’ve encountered a friendly welcome universally, from Andrew Davey, the site manager who has been extremely helpful, and Ruth from Henry Adams, to the kind people in St Mary Gate Inn in Arundel where we stayed while house hunting in the area, not forgetting of course, our new neighbours.”
