Henry Adams School Projects: Class of 2015 / 2016 - Summer Term
Now that the class of 2015 / 2016 is over and we are well into the next academic year, we recap on the many exciting undertakings we’ve been involved in from the Autumn through to the Summer Term.
Below are the projects from Summer term only, but you can read about the two other terms by following these links:
Budding Stars
At Petersfield Infants’ School, children showed their many talents as a competition got underway to win a Henry Adams trophy. The children, aged between four and seven, performed a variety of skills from magic tricks, guitar playing, dancing and there was even a budding gymnast who might just be the next Max Witlock!
Budding Journalists
Budding journalists were out in force from Year 4 at Rose Green Junior School when we were delighted to launch and sponsor a competition challenging each child to compile a brochure under the title ‘Rose Green Views’. The project concluded with a celebration assembly, where parents could see the children's work and Gail Chisham presented the well-deserved medals and trophies in each class, awarded to those who showed the most effort and reached their potential.
Olympic Themed Postcards
To celebrate the Rio 2016 Olympics, children were tasked with creating imaginative Olympic themed postcards, every child took home a certificate of thanks for their wonderful efforts and the winners from each class were awarded a Henry Adams badge.
Oh I do like to be beside the Seaside
What could be better than a trip to the seaside in July! Children from Year R at Emsworth Primary School did just that and had a wonderful time exploring West Wittering beach. Henry Adams, Emsworth provided each child with a wooden beach hut shaped photo frame for them to stick their shells and treasures on and each child had their photograph taken to put inside their frame. A fabulous keep sake for them to remember a glorious trip to the beach.
Rio comes to Haslemere
It was Rio Olympics themed sports day at Camelsdale Primary School last summer as Brazilian dancers from the juniors entertained us all with their spectacular samba moves in the opening ceremony. Henry Adams were delighted to be invited to the occasion and provided medals for every child who took part. It was a great day and a privilege for us to be involved.
Racing Ducks!
Henry Adams were delighted to be one of the sponsors for the 2016 annual village Duck Race, raising funds for Storrington First School. Keen to keep in with the theme, Hattie Coates, partner from our Henry Adams branch in Storrington provided a very popular duck decorating stall.
All in Attendance
We helped Children at Midhurst C of E Primary School, Sheet Primary School in Haslemere and East Wittering Community Primary School celebrate their excellent attendance record throughout the academic school year by presenting every child who achieved 100% attendance with a trophy at their end of year assembly.
Fun at the Fair
Henry Adams partners and managers were out and about last summer, sponsoring many school fairs by supplying and manning their popular craft or tombola stalls. At the craft stalls, children decorated purses or stickers and jewels were creatively applied to crowns; children were delighted to leave the stalls taking their very own products and all proceeds went to each school.
Journeying on to Pastures New
End of year celebrations at The March C of E Primary School, Chichester included the presentation of Year Books to the Year 6 children leaving the school to begin their secondary education.
The stunning Year Book, was compiled by parent Alison Macknay and sponsored by Henry Adams.
Each child had half a page dedicated to information about themselves and their best moments at school, while the remaining pages featured shared memories and special events.
