High attendance reaps rewards
Children with perfect attendance were individually rewarded at Midhurst C of E Primary School when Francis Martin of our Midhurst branch joined the children at a special assembly to congratulate them and award special badges.
“We have 72 children with 100% attendance for the whole of the autumn term!” said Headteacher Sally Clarke. “I am amazed... and it's great to celebrate!”
Attendance is closely linked to attainment and the record numbers showed an increase of 18 children compared with the autumn term in the year before.
Francis Martin, partner at Henry Adams, added, “The children here are always an inspiration and it’s wonderful to see them enjoying school. I hope the badges have genuinely helped to give them a little extra recognition of how important attendance records are.
“All the children who achieved the 100% attendance stood up class by class and were applauded - it was good fun to be part of the celebration.”
With the Spring term now in full flow, children are already working towards their next 100% term attendance badges, which will be followed up at the end of the academic year with trophies for full attendance all year handed out by Henry Adams.
